Being true to your religion can be a tricky thing. This is something that was proven through the American Girl story of Rebecca Rubin. Rebecca Rubin is the daughter of Russian Jewish immigrants who has dreams of her own. She wants to go into the film industry which her family disapproves of. She cherishes her Jewish beliefs and stays true to them throughout her book series. In her book series the theme of maintaining familial beliefs is very common. There is one book in the series when Rebecca was faced with being told to go along with the Christian belief, when she is Jewish. She did not want to go along with it. None the less, she was faced with having to do something that she does not believe in. I won’t go on to say what happens in the end. But, Rebecca is able to stand up for herself when it comes down to accomplishing her dreams and for her beliefs.
