Happy Indigenous People’s Day!

Indig.PeoplesDay

In the last post I did, about Columbus day shows how we honor a man who does not deserve the credit. Christopher Columbus was a man who got the credit for discovering America, when in reality he did not. Around the country there are many people who are substituting Columbus Day with Indigenous People’s Day. This new name reflects on how Christopher Columbus had mistreated the men and women in their own homeland. Columbus wanted the Native Americans to be used as servants as he looked down on them. Personally, I do hope that Indigenous People’s Day does become the new name for Columbus Day in the future. In several cities and some states this is already a reality. Happy Indigenous People’s Day!
