MM/SKM: Hannibal Lecter

Hannibal Lector (Old Dr. Lecter from everything): You know, I actually liked Hannibal Lecter when I first watched Silence of the Lambs. At least until the part where he kills the two cops in the cage in the middle of the room. A psychiatrist who used to eat his patients and, unfortunately, for these two cops, still enjoys cannibalism. During most of the movie we are on Hannibal Lecter serial killer Buffalo Bill with a FBI trainee. We want Buffalo Bill to be found and captured. But during all of this we forget that Lector is the villain in all of this. We try to forget the horrible deeds that he has done when he takes on the role of the anti-hero. Hannibal Lecter is a villainous force to be reckoned with because he knows what people want, while manipulated people into getting it. No matter what Hannibal Lecter is a villain who can’t be over looked.

    Psst! … ‘LecTER’

Well, now that’s out of the way, I have to say Hannibal is an interesting one as he’s never the main villain in his own stories–Red Dragon has Dolarhyde, Lambs has Buffalo Bill, and ‘Hannibal’ has Mason Verger; until you get to the TV series, that is, but that one wasn’t based on the story of the novels, only the characters and their (loose) backgrounds.
