Winter Solstice

The past week I have been doing posts on the traditions of Yule. But, Yule started with the celebration of the Winter Solstice. On the day with the longest night and the shortest day. The traditional turnover for the coldest season of the year is about to begin. The celebration of Yule started with a celebration around this time of year for the Pagans with bonfires and animal sacrifices in the hopes of an abundant winter.
