When we are introduced to Joe Brady (Kelly) and Clarence Doolittle (Sinatra), we watch as these two friends set out on separate ways for their four day shore leave. Joe is set on spending time with his girlfriend, while Clarence tries to learn to talk to girls. After seeing a young boy who dreams of being in the Navy wandering around the dock and being picked up by the police, Clarence is later introduced to his Aunt Susie (Grayson) whom he is instantly smitten with. After trying to go their separate ways for their shore leave, the two are stuck together after making a trip to the young boy’s school and a trip to MGM to help Susie find her dream of becoming an actress, this movie is filled with song and dance that is to entertain for many generations to come.
