Keye Luke portrayed the son of Charlie Chan in several Charlie Chan movies. Growing up the Charlie Chan movie series was one of the many mystery movie series that I enjoyed. Following the brilliance of amateur detective Charlie Chan and his son Lee there is nothing stopping them. In 1935, Keye Luke portrayed Lee Chan for the first time in Charlie Chan in Paris.
While on their way back from vacation in London Charlie Chan finds himself thrown into a mystery. Accompanied by his son Lee, he finds himself following a group of men who are accused of robbing a bank. However, when the lead of this crew is murdered, Charlie must figure out what who is the real mastermind behind the case. After learning that the murder was staged, along with a few other murders that follow, he begins to piece things together. With Lee by his side, Charlie start learns the truth. But, will he be able to stop the crook in time before more money is stolen and other innocent lives are lost?
Keye Luke was born on June 18, 1904 in China. After coming over to the United States he was able to make a career in many films. However, his role as the somewhat comic son of Charlie Chan in the Charlie Chan movie series sticks out to me the most. In the 1935 movie Charlie Chan in Paris he portrays Lee Chan for the first time with many more to come.
