On July 20, 1944, Claus Von Stauffenberg participated in a plot to kill Adolf Hitler. However, as history would show, the assassination attempt did not work with Von Stauffenberg being executed. In the 2008 movie Valkyrie we are introduced to the plot that Claus Von Stauffenberg and his friends hatched to destroy one of the most evil mass murders of all time.
Opening up with explaining the reason why Claus Von Stauffenberg received his injuries from a bombing raid causing him to lose his left eye and his right hand. Moving forward to 1944, Claus Von Stauffenberg finds himself partaking in a plot in order to stop Hitler from destroying Germany. After a couple of duds that did not work well, Claus and his colleagues start to work on one that will bring down the monster who has destroyed their homeland. On July 20, 1944, Claus manages to smuggle in the bomb in a suitcase. When the word of the bombing is received, they learn that Hitler is still alive. Knowing that their death is imminent, some of Claus’s colleagues commit suicide. However, Claus is caught and sentenced to death by firing squad. The movie closes explaining that after the war, Claus and his colleagues received recognition for trying to stop Hitler with a memorial to the German Resistance.
