December 11 has been designated as International Mountain Day by the United Nations General Assembly. There are many films that take place on, around, and about mountains for their wilderness and landscapes. In the 1975 film Escape to Witch Mountain we are introduced to two orphans as they find themselves on a race against the government.
Tia and Tony are twins who do not belong in the orphanage they have lived in. One day they find themselves running as fast as they can away from there when a well to do attorney plans to kidnap them for a greedy millionaire. Frightened, Tia and Tony know that there is only one place for them to go, Witch Mountain. After making the acquaintance of a widower, they find themselves using their magical powers like never before. However, with the greedy millionaires men on their trail will they be able to find out the truth about who they are in time or will they be stopped?
Escape to Witch Mountain had taken in everything that a mountain has to offer. December 11 has been designated as International Mountain Day by the United Nations General Assembly. I hope you all enjoy seeing a mountain or two.
