Wicked is the musical that took the world by storm. Commonly called Broadways Blockbuster, Wicked is a must see musical for all. A prequel to Frank L. Baum’s The Wizard of Oz, we are introduced to the Wicked Witch of the Wests side of the story. Based on the book by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is sure to sweep you off your feet.

Starting off with Glinda the Good Witch telling the story of Elphaba we learn her early life was not easy. Her father despises her, her mother dies in child birth, and her younger sister Nessarose is ashamed of her. However, shortly after she arrived at Shiz, she impresses the headmistress. Promising her a chance to go see the Wizard, Elphaba excels in her studies. But, she has to deal with her roommate Galinda aka Glinda whom she becomes friends with. In the meantime, Elphaba learns something bad is happening those who are part animal. At the same time, Elphaba has fallen for Fiero, Glinda’s boyfriend. Upon arrival at the famed Emerald City Elphaba learns of an evil plot concocted by the Wizard and her headmistress. When she stands up to them she finds herself being called wicked. With no one believing her, Galinda siding with the Wizard, Fiero not returning her love Elphaba is on her own to make the change she hopes for. Never the less, Elphaba sticks to her beliefs even if it costs her own life.
