Theater Thursday: Matilda

There is no musical quite like Matilda. In this fun adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic story we are introduced to a girl who’s parents don’t understand her. Smart and kind, she wins over her teacher and friends at her new school. However, her mother is more concerned about her dancing, her father is a crook, and her school principal is focused on cruelly punishing children. Yet through it all she has her stories that she shares with a local librarian, one in particular tends to stick close to her and another special person. Never the less, Matilda manages to make a change in the lives of those around her, as well as learning a few things about herself.
