Read-It Wednesday: A Christmas Carol

Christmas is only five days away from now. It is hard to believe that this joyous holiday is ALMOST here!! One of my favorite books to read around this time of year is Charles Dicken’s classic A Christmas Carol. Many people know the story about Ebeneezer Scrooge, an old, cold and miserly man who is visited by four spirits. The first one is his business partner in life Jacob Marley who warns him of his horrid ways on Christmas Eve, seven years to the day after he died. From there he is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. In each of these visions Scrooge starts to become a better man, especially after visiting the home of his employee Bob Crachit, where he learns his son Tiny Tim will die if he doesn’t get the help he needs. By the end of the book Scrooge is a changed man who becomes charitable, kind, and generous towards everyone and everything around him.
