This Sunday is Easter! Everywhere around the world people will be celebrating the Resurrection of Christ. Today is known as Good Friday, when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Yet, on Sunday He rose from the dead to remind us of His promise to redeem from sin!

Two men meet by chance looking to meet a man named Godot. However, he does not show up in Samuel Beckett’s play. All Vladimir and Estragon do is talk to each other as they wait for their friend on a Saturday afternoon. Much to their disappointment he does not show up, while the two end up learning a thing or two about each other. With no one else around, the two finally leave the tree where Godot was supposed to show up.

The Shack by William P. Young is a transforming book. Following a young father grieving the death of his murdered daughter with his family ties at stake. One night he goes to a shack where his daughters dress was found where he meets Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit in their own form. Even though they come in different form as he imagined, Mac, the young father, is able to make peace with his life and his family as he can move on with his life knowing none of them ever left him.

One of my favorite TV shows ended its run a couple of weeks ago. Grimm followed a young man who finds out that he is the hunter of various different fairy tales that come to life. A lesson is soon learned that fairy tales were not all pretty and sweet when they were originally written. Following Nick, the main character, and a group of close friends as they stop the forces of evil in Portland, Oregon while facing difficult life choices.

Ah yes! This is how I feel about the weekend starting. This week has been: wet, rainy and stormy with beautiful weather ahead. Ah yes! This whale is how I feel right now!
My Facebook page blew up this week with reminders that Disney’s Aladdin has been on Broadway for three years now. The beloved Disney classic came to the stage back in 2014. The traditional story of a young man Aladdin and his journey that leads him to greatness with Princess Jasmine. Along the way he becomes good friend with Genie, while he makes the enemy of the sorcerer Jafar who is power hungry. Even though he makes enemies, he still manages to find his way out of a sticky situation with a little help.
Cormoran Strike is at it again in The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith aka J.K. Rowling. The private eye is asked to help a woman find her lost husband. Knowing that her husband is known for being notorious he finds it hard to believe her story at first. However, he quickly learns that there is more to the disappearance than meets the eye when he is found murdered. Learning about a secret double life with enemies, Cormoran Strike has to look around every corner in order to find out who is behind the beloved writers woes.
Last week, Entertainment Weekly released their magazine with a special anniversary tribute. Buffy the Vampire Slayer turned 20 years old this past week with many fans rejoicing. In the hit TV show we are introduced to a teenage girl who’s world is turned upside down when she discovers she is the “chosen one.” With new acquired powers Buffy Summers tackles the forces of evil with the help of her close and trusted friends. Complete with guidance and a few fellow “monsters” on her side, she manages to save the day even when all hope seems lost. Buffy is one who is there to save the day no matter where she is.
Putting into words Rhythm in the Night: Irish Dance Spectacular is going to be a tough one as it was a truly amazing show. At the Garde Arts Center in New London, Connecticut they came and brought us to a far away land where darkness has fallen. With the hero Balor under the spell of an evil enchantress Azura, it is up to Aisling, Balor’s loving companion and his brother Solas to bring him back and restore peace to the land.
Yet before the show could begin there was prep that needed to be done with the ushers getting into place as they waited for the house doors to open. The bartenders were preparing the bar for the patrons who would be coming in shortly. Upon the doors opening welcoming in the patrons to the lobby several of them went over to the table where the soundtrack to the show was being sold. Several of them had asked questions about the show. Many of the patrons were wearing green as they made their way to their seats.
Shortly, after the lights flickered Steve Sigel came on stage to welcome everyone to the event. After making a few light jokes about the show he announced future shows that are to come to the Garde Arts Center, such as David Crosby, Robert Kroy, the hit movie La La Land on 4/2 and the Musical Box on 4/7. After encouraging the audience to join the Garde’s emailing list he left the stage to take his seat.
Once the lights dimmed the audience was brought to this dark land where hope has been lost. With two violinists on the stage from time to time along with a flutist, there was no telling when we would be brought back to New London, Connecticut. The Irish Step Dancing Spectacular managed to transport us to this far away land following Ainsley and Solas as they worked tirelessly to save Balor from Azura and their home. With hope and never giving up they manage to bring Balor and defeat Azura.
During the curtain call the troupe received a standing ovation by the audience with many of them demanding an encore to watch. The troupe obliged by dancing to another song right before the lights came back on. Once they did the audience started to leave with the troupe entering the lobby to greet them. Kind and generous they Irish Step Dancers took pictures, answered questions about the show and their dancing background and signed autographs for their new fans in New London, Connecticut at the Garde Arts Center. Nothing was short of magnificent brought on by Rhythm in the Night: The Irish Dance Spectacular.
