Writing 101 Day 9: Camouflage

In plain site

Some things hide

Whether it be intentional

Or not

Some things have a way

Of covering themselves

Hiding in plain site

One has to wonder

How do they do it?

Why do they do it?

How do they hide themselves so well?

Do they know they are good

at hiding?

Camouflage is an interesting concept

For hiding in plain site

Is easy for some

Whether they know it

Or not

Writing 101 Day 8: Graffiti

What is graffiti?

To some an art form

To others a form of vandalism

Colors spray painted

By talented artists

Who want to brighten up the street

Or paint is sprayed by those

Who wish to destroy

And ruin

A piece of art

That is already there

Graffiti is different to many

Some view it as art

While others view it as cruel vandalism

Writing 101 Day 6: Fallacy

How to make a poem that does not make sense?

How does one make that happen?

What is so funny about a poem that is said to be fake?

What is there?

Is it meant to have many false statements?

Is it meant to have many false scenarios?

Fallacy in poetry is around

Many before have shown

How fallacy can turn a poem

What is fallacy in poetry?

Nonsensical Politicians

Nonsensical Politicians

What type of nonsense is there in the world?

What do we consider to be nonsense?

We hear many people make false statements

Yet, we don’t consider many of them

To be nonsense

When a politician proposes

An insane idea

That he or she

Says will improve the country

The reaction is fifty/fifty

Many people who support

This person will claim

It is a good idea

While the others will call it nonsense

the false statements that are made

The outrageous attempts

To gain support

Then have a plan fall through

And blame the other man

Nonsensical Politicians are all around

In both parties

On both sides

Don’t forget that

Writing 101 Day 5: Freedom

What is Freedom?

How do we get freedom?

In school

I was told

Freedom isn’t free

How do we get freedom?

Why is freedom not free?

The word free

is in freedom

Yet, in order to achieve

A sacrifice is made

People go to war

To fight for

Their country

To make sure the ones

Safe at home

Are able to enjoy freedom

Freedom is something

That is taken for granted

All to often

There are other countries

That don’t have as much freedom

As I do

Freedom is fought for

Freedom is taken for granted

All to often

Writing 101 Day 1: Magic

((Open RP)) It is late at night. The time of night when your deepest secrets come out. I sit on my bed and tell my best friend my secret. "I was chosen at birth for a very special mission." I tell him. "Sure you were, Jess!" He says rolling his eyes. "No, really I was!" I say frusterated, showing him what I could do. I wasn't suposed to tell any one, let alone show them. But I couldn't keep it to myself anymore. There was one other person somewhere in the world who was like me. My mission was to:

What magic did I create this year?

What did I accomplish?

What did I do that is magic?

How much magic did I cause?

There is much that I accomplished

In the year 2015

Starting this blog

And receiving some followers

Is magic enough.

The Fearless Father

The Fearless Father

There was a man

Who was going to pray

When he saw a man

Who would cause pain

The fearless father

Threw himself

Upon the man

Saving hundreds

Of people

When the bomb went off

The fearless father

was going to pray

Inside a Mosque

A place to pray

Outside a place of prayer

In Beirut

His hometown

The fearless father

Became a hero

The fearless father

Is forever remembered

As he gave his life

Leaving behind

A wife and two children

Who he made proud

for so many others

In memory of Adel Termos, the man who saved countless others from a suicide bomber in Beirut, Lebanon. May this hero be remembered

Storm clouds gather above a memorial for the victims in the shooting across the street from the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, in July.

Men, women, and children

Filled the theater

To see a movie

That was anticipated

Little did they know

There was a man

Who decided to open fire

Upon the innocent

When he went up front

They thought it was for show

Part of the a promotion

For The Dark Knight Rises

They were wrong

With the gun shots deafening

The panic all around

No one knew what to do

Or where to go

They knew they had to leave

Before they were next

With twelve people gone

And fifty-eight injured

Several people

Had their lives

Ruined forever

The strength that was shown

By the small town

Of Aurora, Colorado

Is still shown today

For justice has happened

The perpetrator found guilty

May these souls rest in peace

And the injured find comfort

the relatives rest in that justice has been served

We will not forget what happened

That night

For all we know

It could have been

At any theater

The Volcano

The Volcano

Volcano. Ok so obviously I cannot actually go here, but this view is unbelievable. #etna

In the darkness

A mountain is a glow

with fire coming

Out of the top

Sparks of flame

Light up the darkened

Smoke rises filling the

Night sky

On the mountain

You can see more light

That comes from

The outside

And reflects more

Of what the mountain

Is not what it was

A volcano

Has erupted

Yet frightening

The volcano is mystifying

To look at

While others fear

The destruction

That is to come

I stare in awe

As nature starts

To paint art

Through the volcano
